Every child & adult with RARE disease, everywhere, regardless of disease, deserves treatments, therapies and support.

It is exciting to know that there are people working tirelessly to bring effective therapies and treatments to children suffering from rare diseases and disorders. The Rare Fund will promote innovations in science and clinical research that will impact children within their lifetime! And The Rare Fund will make it easy to search and support this community of children in need! Anyone can participate!

Funding Novel Research in a Novel Way

Today there are new models for discovery and development in research that allow, non-profit organizations, parent advocates and translational researchers to play an active role in identifying and advancing promising therapies for children affected by rare diseases and disorders. This transformation is changing the way researchers and drug makers think about rare disease and helping accelerate research for this community in need!

Let’s get excited about progressive science that is working to help the 1 in 10 suffering from a RARE disease! Let’s get involved, by helping support those that are dedicating their lives to help bring treatments and therapies TODAY!

Rare Fund Overview & Mission

Our mission is to catalyze and support the development of effective rare disease ‘in-their-lifetime’ research, therapies and treatments.

The Rare Fund is an initiative of the Rare Project, a 501c3 organization.

How It Works

If you are a potential donor, the process is simple. You can peruse various research projects, read the stories and donate through a secure and easy check out. If you would like to be a regular contributor, consider creating a donor page and checking in often. Tools will allow you to form a team to easily reach out to your firends and family to support one or a family of projects that match your interests.

If you are representing research and are interested in becoming a Rare Fund beneficiary, you will need to submit details of your research. Once submitted, the Rare Fund Program Director will contact you, evaluate your research project and prepare it for submission to our review board.

If you are a foundation already raising funds for specific RARE disease research projects, you will have a customized landing page listing only projects you decide to feature.  Your donors will stay focused on your projects and you will be provided all donor contact information for subsequent followup.

100% of the monies raised on the RARE Fund site will go to the research.  We offer the RARE Fund platform to the RARE community free of charge – our operational costs for this platform are being covered via other means.

The RARE Fund is anticipated to have its public launch in mid-Q1 2012.

Rare Fund Review Board

The Rare Fund Review Board is composed of experts with relevant experiences which qualify them to ensure that submitted research meets the criteria for inclusion. We will not publish board member names to guarantee an unbiased review of the research being submitted. The board is made up of experts in science, research innovation, finance, business.
